The legendary Upton Noble Beer Festival will be very different this year. The format that has become ultra popular over the last three years is having a break. However, anyone who loves a gathering will still be in for a treat when the Village Hall plays host to a ‘sharing event’, which will consist of hints of the Beer Festival everyone loves, coupled with a Harvest Festival Night.

The proceedings for all, which kick off at 7pm and are intended to celebrate the apple harvest of 2018, will include live musical entertainment from The Old Malt House Jazz Band, plus DJ Paul Dovey.

For villagers, the fixture kicks off at 3pm with a programme of events for those living locally that runs until 7pm when the venue will be open to the general public. The format is as follows:

  • 3pm-6pm Activities and bar, including village games, e.g., tug of War, childrens’ games
  • 6pm Food to bring and share
  • 6.30pm (approx) Village photograph - be remembered for posterity
  • 6.30pm Cake competition. Classes: over 16 & under 16 The winner will be the one with the most votes from everyone there.
  • 7-11pm - Music and bar & DJ

Alcohol and soft drinks will be available for sale.

People able to help should contact members of the Village Hall committee, Beer Festival committee or the PCC.
If anyone wants to bring surplus non-perishable food along, these donations will be given to the food bank in Frome to help those in greater need.
