There will be plenty of activities over the Christmas period in everyone’s favourite village. Christmas proper kicks off with Carols & Christingle in Upton Noble church on Monday 21 December at 7pm,while Christmas communion commences at 9.30am on Christmas morning

Also on Christmas morning the Village Hall will open its doors for an hour to welcome villagers and their friends and family on the most celebrated day of the year. A bar will be provided, offering warming spirits, wines, beers and soft drinks. And if the weather turns more wintery, traditional mulled wine will also be on offer. The village hall will be open from 11.30am until 12.30pm.

Meanwhile, the most recent village occasion, the Village Feast, a sell-out event, made around £800 for Village Hall funds.

“So many people offered to help and we couldn´t have done it without all those people who decorated, set up, cooked canapés, main courses and puddings, organised and ran the bar, cleared away, donated raffle prizes and, of course, bought tickets,” said joint Village Hall Committee chairman Verna Kinder. “As for our younger members, their waiter and waitress skills were amazing.”
